#FeelGoodFriday | This year I wanted to be more intentional about strengthening my core. I also wanted to focus on form, depth, and intensity in a different way. Pilates has become a new challenge for me. I am enjoying it because it forces me to slow down, to truly breathe through the difficult moments and to strengthen my foundation and form.

It’s stretching me, literally and figuratively, more than ever before. My intentions for 2023 have everything to do with diversifying my wellness routine and figuring out what I enjoy + what works for my body.

So far, I’m enjoying this new journey of self-discovery. Here are the benefits of Pilates:

Hey sis! So I hit my One Year Loc Anniversary earlier in January and I didn’t even have a chance celebrate. 🙃 So this video of my wash day is right on time. 😉🎉

My wash day takes 3 easy steps: See video! ⬆️ About 1 hour to braid + band then wash my hair. It takes another ~2 hours to get my hair retightened. Not bad at all!

I wash my hair every other week. I get my hair retightened every 6 weeks. (Your retightening schedule depends on your hair and how fast it grows, so I would recommend consulting a professional.)

My stylist is 👉🏾 @naturally_kam 👈🏾 and she installed my locs and maintains them for me for my retightenings 🙆🏾‍♀️

I use @opulenthairessentials for my daily hair care products, periodt! 💁🏾‍♀️ Love them

My hair is the healthiest ever and I’m the happiest because I have true hair freedom. I love this for me!

I wanted to go for a stylish, chic look so I paired this satin effect floral top from @zara with cream high-waist trousers (thrifted). I put on my clear mules (old) ...added my pink peacoat from @bananarepublic... styled my microlocs in a quick updo... and voila! A stylish, chic look that’s still fun and a little flirty. Pro-tip: use body tape go secure your blouse 😉 Ladies, a little experimentation goes a long way… trust me I’m trying new things and experimenting with my personal style right now. Remember to do you! 😏

Whew. 😅 We made it to the weekend, y’all! This week was full… from securing @beyonce tickets, work, family, self-care and everything in between. I couldn’t be more excited to step into the weekend, honestly.
