⁣The inaugural My Living Spree Retreat in Costa Rica —still searching for the words. But, the photos and memories will serve as a glimpse into the joy and happiness of the reality that was. 🇨🇷💃🏽✨

44 phenomenal women from all walks of life, from all over the U.S., from all ages (22 to 65) coming together in community. MLS Retreat was a 4-day “living spree” that created space for us to show up for ourselves… and each other. ⠀
⠀
As superwomen who save the day in multiple arenas— mom, wife, doctor, educator, caregiver, entrepreneur, director, sister, and more— we took our capes off. We didn’t have to be strong and we didn’t have to be everything for everybody. Instead, we took a moment to BE. Just BE, that’s it. ⠀
⠀
We connected with God and ourselves, we shared our stories and witnessed the strength in vulnerability, we let our hair down, we laughed, we cried, we danced in the rain (literally LOL), we conquered fears together, we basked in the beauty of nature, and we left better than we came. ⠀
⠀
I am forever grateful to experience this unspeakable joy, to witness the beauty of community, and for a space to pour and be filled all over again. We walked away with new sister-friends and an unforgettable experience. Thank you ladies for making this first retreat a success. And thank you @iamevanahmari for capturing some special moments for us 📸 and @jauntsandgemstravel for booking the best accommodations and activities for us! What we experienced— unspeakable joy and a space to pour and be filled over and over again. This was truly a space to BE your authentic self and get whatever it is that you needed.

What we learned— life is simple when we surrender to what is and let go. There is power in rest and stillness. There is magic in showing up for yourself.

What we’re grateful for— sharing such a beautiful experience with like-minded women invested in community and showing up whole, healed, and humble.

Today I will welcome 44 women from all walks of life for the inaugural My Living Spree Wellness Retreat. What started as a dream in 2017 with 3 girlfriends at a local Houston hotel eventually manifested to the MLS Retreat we will experience together in Costa Rica next few days. 🙌🏾💃🏾🇨🇷✨

This retreat is not only a dream, but it’s a God thing. It’s what WE need right now—a space to come together in community. A place for rest… not just physical, but mental and spiritual too. A place to pour and be filled at the same time.

Ladies, I am SO excited to welcome all of you! This commmunity, this joy, this grace from God, this outpouring of love, prayers and well wishes… I am grateful for it all! Thank you. My very first international trip was with my grand

My very first international trip was with my grandparents— Walter and Ruby Cockrell. We went to Montego Bay, Jamaica and stayed at the Ritz. We had the best time touring the city, getting massages, and leisurely enjoying some of the best Jamaican food ever. They exposed me to a world beyond my wildest dreams at an early age, which has been a guiding light for me to unapologetically pursue the best, become the best version of myself that I could be, and create opportunities for others to do the same. Their legacy will forever have an impact on my life. ✨

But most importantly, he was present. He never forgot a birthday, holiday, recital, awards ceremony, or chance to send a card or say he was proud of me. He was the best grandfather I could ask for. ❤️

Earlier this week, my grandfather made his transition to heaven. I’m grateful I had a chance to see him and spend those final moments by his side. 🫶🏾

Grandfather, we celebrate your life and your legacy. We rejoice in knowing that you are resting peacefully now, without pain. And most importantly, we are happy that you are reunited with Grandma Ruby— I’m sure she is excited to welcome you in heaven along with your loved ones and friends who had gone before you. Until we meet again, I will cherish every memory, photo, voicemail, and the sound of your voice saying “Heyyy Ashley.” With love, your granddaughter Ashley.
