Currently in a season of prioritizing rest and this is the perfect read. This book is a call to action to reclaim my time, my power, and my restoration. It’s liberating, it’s refreshing, it’s permission, and it’s comforting that I’m not alone in being tired of the hamster wheel of grind culture. I wish more rest and restoration for us all. We don’t talk enough about Community Care 🫶🏾 Being surrounded by like-minded women who “get it.” Who pour into you in and out of season. Who make you laugh. Who you can feel vulnerable around and cry with. Who send you thoughtful messages just to check-in. Who pray for you. Who can tell when your energy is off. Who genuinely want to see you win. Who encourage you when you’re feeling stuck and remind you of who you are. Who may not have the answers but serve as a sounding board when you need to vent. Who understand that life happens and never judge you and give you grace when needed.

Eased into the new year because 2022 was filled with a lot of transition for me. From navigating personal life and job transitions, to grieving the death of my grandfather, to hosting the first International MLS Retreat, to traveling and life in between. I was tired and all I wanted was rest. All I needed was rest. So, I listened to my spirit and gave myself exactly what I needed.

How many times do we ignore our spirit and keep going? How often do we say yes when we really want to say no? How often do we allow others to dictate decisions for what we know we need? We’ve all been there. I most definitely have.

But, this season I want to fill my cup up… so I can enjoy it too… not only to pour out more. I want more space to BE and dream. I’m learning less is more. I’m asking for help and leaning on God + community more. I don’t have to have it all together and quite frankly, I’m practicing allowing the chips to fall where they may. True ease requires letting go. It’s messy and uncomfortable. My work this season is ME.

So here’s to giving yourself exactly what you need and honoring you. I wish you more space to BE and live. More freedom to love and experience joy. More space to be filled and poured into. More time to enjoy and savor the moment. More courage to unapologetically show up for yourself.

Didn’t have a chance to sum up 2022 because my mind and heart have been fixed on this day. On the front lawn of the house I grew up in... in Birmingham, Alabama. Surrounded by family... who were all completely overwhelmed and surprised. An intimate moment I’ll never forget. An answered prayer. I said YES to my best-friend and God-ordained soulmate. Not enough words to describe this man and what He means to me, but God knew just what I needed.

We prayed for each other years ago and our prayers came true. All Glory to God for His divine timing and alignment. 🙌🏾❤️🙏🏾🥹

I said YES and now I can’t wait to say I DO.
